Obverse: Portrait of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar at center and the water mark of the Lion & Sun on the left. Regarding the hand-stamp, the banknote is valuable in Tehran only.
Reverse: Qajarian style of the National emblem of the Lion and Sun in the middle and the Kiani Crown (Qajar dynasty 1796–1925) above it. Centered on top THE IMPERIAL BANK OF PERSIA in an arc and the value in words TWENTY TOMANS at lower centre panel, the value in figures 50 at each of the four corners. English script at the top: PAYABLE at TEHERAN ONLY.
