Obverse: The portraits of King Albert I and Queen Elisabeth in a decorated medallion. Demeter holding a horn of plenty brimming with fruit at right.  (Demeter was the great Olympian goddess of agriculture, grain, and bread, the sustenance of all mankind).
Reverse: The Lacemaker at work. The buildings depicted are: in the middle the Cloth Hall of Ypres, in the left border the Gravensteen of Ghent "Castel of the count".
