Due to steady inflation, 5000 and 10000 Dong notes were printed in 1975 but not issued due to the communist victory.

Madame Nguyen Van Thieu (born Nguyen Thi Mai Anh Khue) served as First Lady of South Vietnam from 1967–75. She is the widow of Nguyễn Văn Thiệu a Vietnamese general and politician, who served as President of the Republic of Vietnam from 1967 until his resignation in 1975. She was born in Mỹ Tho. Prior to the Fall of Saigon, her husband and her family left South Vietnam on 21 April 1975 to Taiwan. They later moved to England before permanently settling in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
