Early 16th Century Thaler coin from Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, a very rare example of the so called "Light" thaler type, referring to the obverse scenery of the ocin, struck from the silver then rich mines of the Harz Mountains.

Obverse: Wildman walking right holding lit candle in right hand, tree trunk in left. Date (I.5.8.Z) in fields.

Reverse: Helmeted 4-fold arms with 2 wildman supporters. Titles of Henry Julius around.
